Windsurfing and sailing

The northern area of Lake of Garda is famous for its stable thermal wind, which ensures optimal conditions for all sailing activities. The morning is generally characterized by a pleasant breeze from the North called locally "Peler", which is great to start learning how to windsurf and sail. Around midday a much stronger wind from the South, the famous "Ora del Garda", blows, and the lake fills with sails and windsurfs! If you do not have your own equipment, you can of course rent it in one of the many sailing schools.

Other water activities

Swimming, paddling on a SUP board, kayaking, or kite surfing are just a few example of additional water activities that you can practice on Lake Garda. If you like paddling you will have also the opportunity to do a short trip to the Ponale waterfalls. If you prefer a more relaxed day, various companies offer boat trip around the lake.

Cycling and MTB

Riva del Garda is a perfect starting point for cycling tours. Along the lake, just a few meters from the apartment, there is a scenic cycling path which brings you either to the old center of Riva or to Torbole, a beautiful village just a couple of kilometers away. Half way on this path you can turn left and cycle along the Sarca river, a great (longer) tour. Another option is the Ponale track, the old road that connected Riva with the Ledro valley, famous for its spectacular view above the lake. Our guests can also ride to Limone, where there is the first part of a newly built path on the lake.

Hiking and climbing

The entire area is surrounded by mountains which offer endless opportunities for simple hikes, longer tours, or challenging climbs (most of which start close to the nearby village Arco). A number of via ferrata of different difficulties are also present: some of them offer spectacular views above the lake.

Sightseeing

Riva del Garda can also be conveniently used as a starting point for several tours in the areas. You might want to pay a visit to the spectacular Varone waterfalls. Nearby beautiful villages include Arco, Tenno (with its old medieval Canale and its colorful lake), and Limone. You probably will also want to visit Trento and its historical Castello del Buonconsiglio (which can be reached in about 45 minutes drive).
