The old center of Riva is reachable with a spectacular 15-minute walk or 5-minute bike ride along the lake (pedestrian zone and bike path).
The center is mostly a pedestrian zone and hosts several shops, restaurants, and historical buildings.
There you will also find ferries to reach nearby towns (such as Limone or Malcesine).

By car:
from A22 Brennero highway: take the exit "Rovereto Sud - Lago di Garda Nord", then drive to Riva del Garda (approximately 30 minutes).
from A4 Milano-Venezia: take the exit "Brescia Est", then keep the direction to "Lago di Garda", pass the town Salò and drive to Riva. Warning: this route is very scenic but has a few very narrow tunnels.
By train: get out in Rovereto, then take the bus to Riva del Garda. You can check the timetable of busses directly from Google Maps. There is a bus stop in Viale Rovereto, very close to the apartment.
By airplane: the closest airports are in Verona and in Milano Orio al Serio. In both airports you will find car rentals.
By ferries: there are ferries from and to all main towns on the lake.
